Busy Saturday

We ended up not going to a family reunion on Adam's side of the family as Tyson's fever continued on through yesterday and he finally woke up this morning chipper as usual (although he was a little wobbly when he tried to walk, but he progressed as the day moved on). Yesterday was pretty much the same for him as Thursday and there wasn't much we did because of that. However, today was pretty eventful as we began the morning by hooking up the dump trailer to Adam's truck and delivering his partner's wife's car to there house. I would have taken a picture of it but we would all rather not remember what it looks like. Actually it looks just fine on the outside except for the side mirrors as after his partner blew the motor and they couldn't get it to fit in the trailer (while on their way back from a roofing job), then he busted the mirrors off and it finally fit. Not the wisest thing to do as that is one more thing to fix, but he was in the moment of frustration and for some that can lead to some pretty stupid decisions. After dropping off the car we headed out to the flat to load up a little red pickup that needed to be dropped off at the mechanics' by our house. Adam wanted to do some dirtwork with the backhoe, so after using it to load the pickup into the dumptrailer he quickly instructed me how to drive the backhoe back to our house while he pulled the trailer. I was going to take a picture of me in it but I ran out of battery power. Later in the afternoon Adam went out to the shop to change out his injectors. I tried to get a nap in for Tyson but that didn't work so we bought some icey things at SnoKaps and joined Adam out in the hot shop. Tyson made himself at home there by cleaning up a few of the tools for Adam and then also helping any way he thought he could by his normal fiddling around with the tire. He was definitely due for a good scrubbing by the time the day was finished. Because on top of that I gave Adam and Tyson haircuts so they could be a little more clean cut for church. After everyone showered Adam and I did the timesheets for the company for the week, straighted up the house and are going to bed.

Up all Night

Well, as I guessed, Tyson was up all night but not because he had gone to sleep too early and was ready to play. He tossed and turned and whined from the minute we finished saying our prayers until around 5 a.m. So it has been a long night and day. As you can tell from the picture the little guy isn't up to doing much but he has managed to put Adam to sleep. Around the afternoon I took his temperature at 102 degrees so I gave him some Tylenol. He has just felt yucky. We did go to a barbecue that Adam's aunt was having for his cousin and her family that haven't been this way for about 7 years. It was fun to meet them, but Tyson still didn't care for too much than to be held by Adam or myself and just whine and moan. Although he did find some interest in some Watermelon that showed up. Someone suggested that he could be getting molars in, so I'm convinced that is the cause of his pain. We will let him sleep with us tonight so I can watch his temp. He did finally get a smiley face on the thermometer, so that was good.

Adam's Day He Hopes to Forget

Today was a little more low key for Tyson and myself. After breakfast and a short morning nap for Tyson we went to run a few errands in town and then went to Adam's parents' house, which we refer to as The Flat. We visited the grandparents most of the day. G-pa Stout had an eye swollen shut due to a dirt clod nailing him at the wrong time while bailing hay. He didn't look the greatest. As for Adam, he had a very long day. His partner had to come rescue his truck as it somehow got a hole in a hose and then while on their way back his partner's car blew the motor, so it is toasted now. They got alot done at work so it was good in that way but as for the rest they are hoping to wake up tomorrow and hope it was a bad dream. As for my evening, Tyson fell asleep on the way home from The Flat and has not awaken, so I put him to bed with a bottle for dinner. I'll go check on him one more time, but I do wonder if my night is just beginning and maybe I will want tomorrow to arrive wishing that a good night's rest comes right behind that. Basically I'm hoping Tyson doesn't wake up soon or real early thinking it is time to play. We enjoyed a good dinner with some chicken thighs that Adam's mom gave us with some pasta roni and some yummy delicioso cooked up squash that she gave us as well. I love this time of year for all the great tasting fresh produce coming out of gardens. This picture I'm posting is actually of Tyson and Adam at the city pool last weekend for his Elder's quorum pool party. Tyson is quite the babe in his swim shorts.

Anniversary Makeup

Today we tried to have a makeup anniversary day. Adam worked during the morning hours and then came home for lunch. We then headed to town together. Adam went to a contractor's office where he did a takeoff on some plans for a roof while Tyson and I sat out in the car. From there we went to the temple visitor's center and watch a couple of their short clips on the construction of the temple and the purpose of temples. While we tried to watch the clips Tyson kept himself occupied by trying to reach through glass to grab at rocks...he loves rocks. We decided to move on to the next errand due to Tyson needing a diaper change. Adam was very nice to go with me to get the oil changed in the car which came with a free car wash. That was a new experience for Tyson and it kept his attention the whole time. I think the most exciting part about the whole day was that we were able to find out how to connect the food processor/chopper onto our compact bosch (a father's day present I gave to Adam :) You may be wondering why that is so exciting...it is especially if you dread having to grate potatoes and cheese etc. Not any more...although I made Adam grate the potatoes if he ever wanted hash browns for breakfast. So as one might guess that is what we had for dinner with a yummy pork chop and a zuccini squash straight out of our square foot garden box. I can't believe that I can actually grow something. It has been a much better day. One last thing, I just finished reading Elder Jay E. Jensen's talk on "The Nourishing Power of Hymns". It brought back great memories of my grandma Steele and my mom as they seemed to always be singing hymns in the home when I was younger. That always brought a peaceful feeling into the home. I have found myself at times doing the same thing. I am very grateful for hymns.

The Beginning of Blogging

Well, I set a goal last week that I was going to get a blog spot up and going by our anniversary and now it has almost come and gone. I want to thank Karli for giving me the 101 of how to go about doing it, so this may be very rusty.

I'm still trying to decide if this anniversary was better than last years or not. How do you decide between being in great pain a week later from delivering a big headed child to knowing you had plans to get out of the house by the end of the day but company stuff taking over the whole evening and nothing going as planned? That's the toss up. I am determined that I will not go to bed until I accomplish this goal, so it could be salvaged a little.

Since I seem to have ended the night in a sour mood then maybe one of those grateful lists might help. The first 10 that come to my mind are:

1. Don't know how I would be where I am without the gospel of Jesus Christ. So I am very grateful for that and especially for his life and example to follow and try to pattern my life after. (I have a long ways to go)
2. Adam- that would be the one that is my husband. He puts up with way too much and how could you help but love someone for that.
3. Tyson- the joy in both our lives. What a blessing he is.
4. Family- I have definitely been blessed with great families...large ones at that.
5. Friends- some that come and go and others that are always there but they all come in my life for a reason, not by chance or good luck.
6. Ancestors- so many things in so little time to be learned from them. Probably wouldn't make so many mistakes if I knew more.
7. Technology- so many wonderful things can be accomplished with it.
8. Showers- isn't it refreshing to feel clean.
9. Water- by far my favorite liquid to drink.
10. Sleeping- it's always nice to know that tomorrow is another day.

There, I feel better already. I think this will do for now.
