Today was fun as my cousin, who is also my sister-in-law, was here with her little boy, Marshall, who is 20 days younger than Tyson. We decided last night that we would see when these boys woke up this morning and that would determine whether we went to the Leeds parade. Why that one? My second cousin and his wife started up a business of touring/rides in buggies called Red Rock Rails in Leeds. They had invited us to bring Tyson to ride in one in the parade. We didn't commit to it as we didn't exactly know what we would be doing that morning, so SaraAnn and I decided last minute to go over there and see if we could meet up with them, but they were not there, so we just let the boys watch this cute small town parade and pick up all the candy they wanted. It funny to watch as Tyson would fill both hands with as much candy as he could and then look up and he would even have a piece clenched between his teeth. The poor kid just didn't have enough room in his hands to get all the candy he wanted. The greatest thing was that the parade went past once and then after reaching the end of main street it turned around for a 2nd passing. It was short and sweet, was at 8:30 a.m. and we were done before the sun started to come out and burn us up. I'm glad we did that as Adam, Tyson, and I didn't do anything else the rest of the day that had to do with the holiday. Adam worked and we went back to our normal routine. I am grateful for the pioneers though, and their hard determination to overcome all the trials they battled on their journey for religious freedom and to obey a command from the prophet and therefore the Lord. I'm glad we have a day to pay tribute and remember those sacrifices made.
